Collectible Confederate $1,000 Bond

The Confederate States of America (CSA) needed to raise money to finance their effort. The two primary ways to do this was by taxes and debt. In 1861 the Confederacy sold bonds worth $150 million.

This April 30, 1863 Act $1,000 bond with nearly complete coupons, Criswell-138. Bond features a vignette of James A. Seddon.

The bond is signed by Robert Tyler (son of Pres. Tyler). Excellent condition!
