Sidney Dillon and the Chicago Canada Southern Railway

Sidney Dillon (1812-1892) railroad builder, financier, built a section of the Boston and Albany in 1840. He built thousands of miles of railroad and was principal contractor for the Union Pacific (1865-69). Dillon served as director of that road and as its president.

This beautiful 1870s Chicago and Canada Southern Railway stock with stub at left border includes attractive portrait of Dillon. Excellent condition. Rare! From the Syracuse University Collection.
