2nd Use Playing Cards
The faces of the cards are definitely in the period between 1740 and 1760 pre French Revolutionary. They are all stencil coloured.
The currency unit in France at this time was: Livre, Sols (12 sols = 1 Livre) and Dernier (20 Dernier = 1 Sol). My conclusion is that the writing on the back refers to the content of some item to which the playing card was attached (thus the pin marks) and the value of the item was written in Sols on the card.
Three of the cards have the term ‘appel de Gand’. The cards have the following values: 1 at 2 sols, 2 at 3 sols and 1 at 4 sols the fifth card states ‘fordre’ of the same series. Although they cannot be considered numismatic items, I think as monetary playing cards, they are extremely interesting.

Pennsylvania Maccabee Home & Maccabees Membership certificates of Membership. Western Bank Note, Chicago. Very Rare! Only 1 pair available!
No one of the popular secret beneficiary fraternal societies which have sprung into being during the latter quarter of the 19th century has been more successful than the Maccabees. Its original inspiration was of Canadian origin, but its robust youth and early manhood are tributes to the nurturing care and executive capacity of American citizens. The founders of the modern Maccabees are to be commended for quarrying the foundation stones of their ritual, legend, and ceremonial in strata which had not even been uncovered by the exploring hand of the secret society ritualist.*

Collectible Star From Old Glory
The large hand-stitched star on a field of blue was once part of a large 34 Star United States flag that flew during the Civil War. The 34 star pattern was flown from July 4th, 1861 until July 3rd, 1863 when West Virginia was admitted to the Union. While the flag this star and blue fabric came from was in tatters, it measured approximately 10 by 16 feet.
The copy photo above shows a similar sized flag being used as a backdrop prop. The original photograph of an unidentified Union soldier was taken by Cooley, a 10th Army Corps photographer in Beaufort, South Carolina.
Due to damage in the red and white stripes section, the flags stars have become a very special relic. These large barracks flags were used on public buildings, camps, and troop barracks areas. This one came from the West Virginia area. This star is on its original blue fabric and is accompanied at back by a photo of the same damaged flag. Each of these 34 stars are individually numbered.
